Instructions for Obtaining a Certificate of Search (Court Clearance)

A Certificate of Search, or what is more commonly known as a Court Clearance, can be obtained at the Records Section at the Superior Court building in Hagatna, or at the Northern Court Satellite at the Dededo Mall, or you may email your request to scog.records@guamcourts.org.   The following information must be provided:  (1) your full name; (2) date of birth; and (3) a valid identification number.  Additionally, you will need to present a current and valid photo identification card, or attach a clear copy of a current and valid photo identification card to your email request.  Requests received via email may take three to five business days to complete.

The court fee for the Certificate of Search is $20.00.  Should you require an e-copy of the court clearance, you will be charged an additional $1.00.  Should you want the document mailed to you, you must provide your complete mailing address.  You will also be charged postage via regular USPS mail at $0.58 for standard mail.

Be advised that due to the passage of 22 Guam Code Annotated, Chapter 6, Fair Chances Hiring Process Act, “the Superior Court of Guam shall not reveal any information concerning an arrest
that did not result in a filed criminal case, or concerning a court case that has been dismissed, whether it has been expunged or not, and whether or not it was dismissed with prejudice or without prejudice, except to the person whose record it is, or to a licensed attorney representing that person, or upon order of the Court.”
